Sama Abaknon

The Sama Abaknon speakers are found in the San Bernardino Strait and Capul Island of Northwest Samar. They are also known as Abaknon, Capul, Capuleno, and Sama. The family to which the language belongs is Sama; the people are called Abaknon.

Abaknon language also named Inabaknon, Kinapul, Kapulenyo and Sama Abaknon is a language spoken in the small island of Capul, near San Bernardino Strait, or in Abak off the northwestern coast of Samar. Abaknon language is a sub-family of Autronesian, Malayo-Polynesian, Western Malayo-Polynesian, and Sama-Bajaw. It is considered one of the Sama languages.
